Honeymoon Resort Holiday Inn, Koh Phi Phi

When you think of Thailand, you immediately think of Koh Phi Phi. The Phi Phi islands are mostly known from the film “The Beach” starring Leonardo DiCaprio as the lead character. Everybody knows the image of the pearly white beaches and the azure blue sea and that is why I at first thought reality would be a disappointment, but nothing is further from the truth.

From the moment you set foot ashore on the private beach of the Holiday Inn Resort, you literally feel like you entered paradise and that you landed in a photoshopped scenery. Believe me, the water is bluer than in the pictures and the beach is white as powder. The only thing you experience is the sound of the waves, the soft breeze that blows through the palm trees and the beautiful sounds of the tropical birds around you.

The Holiday Inn Resort at Koh Phi Phi is located at Lam Tong Beach, also called the Cape of God and we know why. This private beach lies in the northern parts of Koh Phi Phi and is truly brilliant. You can only get here by boat. You’ll be picked up from the main pier by a long-tail boat (service from the hotel) and you’ll be standing at nearly the most beautiful beach of this island in 45 minutes, only to never leave it again 😉

The resort is huge and has 2 big pools. As a visitor you can be brought to and picked up from your little house, but it is actually a lot more fun to walk along the beach and through the beautiful garden yourself. During the walk you can see how beautifully made the resort is and how gorgeous everything is laid out. Meanwhile, the most beautiful butterflies fly by which flutter down onto the colorful flowers.

The Holiday Inn Resort has different types of accommodation. Varying from garden view to sea view. We were in the most beautiful villa the resort has to offer ourselves, namely “The Coral Beach Studio” right at the beach. The villa has 2 bathrooms of which one is an outside shower and believe me, that itself is already a party, when you’re showering under the starry sky at night. At a moment like that you wish you could stay forever.

The second pool of the resort, which was only accessible by adults, was located right next to our villa. There is a reason this is a honeymoon destination and everything is being done to keep the guests happy. I was impressed by the hospitality and personal service the Holiday Inn gives out, but especially the friendly staff plays a big role in that. Because every morning you get greeted friendly with a big smile by everyone 🙂 It’s the combination of everything Holiday Inn has to offer that makes you so happy here.

In the evening you can get a splendid meal at the resort’s restaurant, but do not forget to stop by the SunSet bar before or after, around 6 p.m., for a wonderful cocktail to enjoy a beautiful sunset. They are the “little” gifts that make a stay at the Holiday Inn so special. This stay at Koh Phi Phi was unforgettable and I would want to go back to relive this paradisiacal feeling.
