Frankfurt am Main, modern city between the vineyards

Officially I am not allowed to fly anymore because I am heavily pregnant, but I’m always up for a city trip by car a few hours away from home. It’s a kind of tradition that we visit every year one of Germany’s beautiful cities and its surroundings. This time the modern business city, Frankfurt am Main located in the state of Hesse.

Frankfurt, located at the same latitude as Luxembourg is the fifth largest city in Germany. Düsseldorf, modern city on the waterfront

With Christmas around the corner, I start to get butterflies in my stomach. I get the urge to get in the mood and I long for the dark days where coziness is the most important thing. I had never been in Dusseldorf for a Christmas market and I was very curious to experience it.

It’s mostly the charm and coziness of the German cities that appeal to me and that’s why I feel more than at home there.

During my last trip through Germany I ended up in Heidelberg. Heidelberg is a picturesque city, situated in the south-west of Germany and in the northern part of the state of Baden-Württemberg. Heidelberg is mostly a great destination to just stroll around in, enjoy the many terraces and to go out for dinner in the evening. Because Heidelberg is a true student city there’s enough to do in the evening. Read More…
