I have been back for a while now from my wonderful trip to Thailand and the Philippines with a computer full of pictures. I dare not to count them, but I think there are more than 2,000 pictures! Fantastic pictures of azure blue seas, white beaches, and tropical paradises.
And each photo has a special memory for me, but what do I do with all those pictures put away in a folder on my PC or hanging somewhere in the cloud? Nothing at all!
So I decided it was time to use my spare hours in the evening to make a picture selection and a photo book. And I should have done that much earlier because the result is stunning.

Years ago, I got my first photo book as a gift from a friend living in America. I still have it and it is a tangible memory of beautiful moments captured in images. A photo book is not only a nice gift to get but also to give away or a nice way to record your own memories. I made a lot of photo books for other people, but now it was time to make one for myself of our trip to Asia.
I already had some experience with making photo books. You can have them made everywhere. Nowadays even the supermarket and drugstore are offering these services, but be aware, there is a real difference in quality. As I say as true photo book connoisseur 😉
During my search, I came across Albelli. They are specialists in this field and print already since years photo books. Besides the ability to order photo books you can also let your pictures printed. I’ve used sometimes special promotions to print lots of pictures at a cheap price, and later I really regretted that. When I received the pictures at home, I hardly recognized them. Colors did not match and from many pictures were cut off half heads.
A great misery and I could well forget about my money. At that time I have learned my lesson and since then I’m just going for the best. So I was genuinely surprised with the result of the photo prints. A very nice and bright color, and luckily there wasn’t cut off something.

I have printed in total almost 200 pictures, and I am so pleased with the result 🙂 Reviewing images on the screen is quite different from having them tangibly in your hand. Thanks to the glossy finishing the pictures look at their best.

My floor is littered with pictures full of memories. Just a selection of my trips from left to right; from Thailand to the Philippines and from the Dominican Republic to Burj Khalifa in Dubai. The nicest pictures I have printed out in the biggest size (20 by 30 cm) to be framed later.

How do you create a photo book with Albelli?
For those who are not familiar with it, creating a photo book is easy, but the software and user friendliness really make the difference. There’s nothing more annoying than a crashing computer while uploading your photos to your book, complex operating instructions, or untraceable work when closing down the computer.
Step 1: First, create an account on Albelli.co.uk. So your work gets automatically saved.
Step 2: Choose to work in the online area. That saves a lot of memory on your PC.
Step 3: Once you’ve chosen your book size, you determine on the left side the number of pictures per page.
Step 4: Select the plus sign in your photo frame to add the desired picture or to add a page.
Step 5: At last, check well the example before you press the order button.
The result of my special trip
It sounds cliché, but a photo book is really a reminder for your life. The biggest surprise was that I got my own photo book as a present on the day it was delivered to my home. My boyfriend was so “sweet” to surprise me with this book and had wrapped it as a real birthday present. So for all women among us who do not know what to ask for their birthday, I can heartily recommend a photo book! Always a good idea 🙂
