I’ve been blessed to see a lot of hotels and my work allowed me to sleep in the most beautiful resorts, but the Indigo Bangkok Hotel surprised me in every way and never left my mind. Why? Because it’s a hotel with a story in which every detail takes you to a different world: The world of art, senses and experiences. This special concept is unique in its kind, because none of the Indigo Boutique Hotels are the same! Every Indigo hotel is designed and inspired by the country and the city it is in. This is the story where it all began for me.
Welcome to Boutique Hotel Indigo Bangkok Wireless Road, the place in Bangkok where Thailand’s first radio station started. In the past, the first radio signals were sent through Morse code. A cute detail in this hotel is that the architect used the history in the new design. That’s why you can read “Indigo Hotel” in Morse code using the different little balconies as code, how amazing is that? And this is only the beginning of your exploration called Indigo 🙂
Boutique Hotel Indigo could not have picked out a better place in Bangkok when it opened its doors at the beginning of last year as part of this brand new and unique concept of the IHG (InterContinentalHotels) Group. Wireless Road may be the most beautiful piece of Bangkok. Not just for its history, but also because it is a really park-like street because of the different embassies and its impressive gardens. Besides that, Wireless Road is in the center of the city, surrounded by various reputable restaurants, art galleries and of course the big shopping malls Bangkok is known for. That is why once you get here, you never have to leave. 😉
“East meets West” is Indigo’s motto. Styles from the earlier neighborhoods are combined with the Western and modern design of today. When you enter the hotel lobby you will be greeted warmly by Indigo’s “hosts”. Every host makes sure your stay in this boutique hotel is one to never forget and one where you feel at home as a member of the Indigo Group. There’ s an old-fashioned gumball machine at the counter for example, (see picture above) in which surprise balls have been put. Every new guest can draw a wishing ball and in these balls there’s a gift for everyone. You can get a free upgrade, for example, or a late checkout time the next day or a discount on your next stay. It is super fun and personal which makes everyone happy.
The Indigo Hotel has a total of 192 rooms which are available from only US$130 per night. The rooms are decorated according to the “home away from home” concept in which elements of a modern city hotel are combined with warm influences from the direct environment. You’ll feel at home immediately, because the rooms are truly amazing!
Gorgeous design, the most beautiful materials and eye for detail make the bathrooms very special.
So popular that the duck population has unfortunately been halved (brought it for personal use). And look what we have here, the rubber duck!
What else does Indigo have to offer?
Use the fitness centre with a fantastic view of the business district of Bangkok.
Lounge at the outdoor café with a park-like view.
Or at the pool 🙂
Especially do not forget to dine in the evening. Because here Indigo again mixes the traditional gastronomic culture with a 5 star chef’s menu. The restaurant serves a diverse range of Thai and International dishes which truly are a series of exciting flavors. For starters try one of the many little Thai dishes. Tip: The lambs rack is truly a delicious main course! And for the ladies among us, do not forget to get a desert! 😉
We’ve had a delicious meal!
Enjoy the magnificent view as the icing on the cake
And to end the evening well, you take a cocktail at the infinity pool:
While you see the sun set slowly…
… and to wake up with this view 🙂
